What Size Dumpster Do I Need in Orlando?
Most dumpster companies hand you a menu with four or five sizes and let you guess. We went the other way. Eco Haul rents one size, a 14 yard roll off, because after enough driveways you learn that it fits almost every residential job in Central Florida. The real question is not the size. It is how many days you need it and how heavy your debris runs.
How big is 14 yards, really
The container measures 14 feet long, 7 feet wide and 4 feet tall. In practice that swallows a full garage cleanout, the tear out from a kitchen renovation, or the roofing and drywall from a medium remodel. Picture around four full pickup truck loads with room to walk between trips.
Because it is 4 feet tall, you can load it over the side without a ramp. That matters more than people expect when the debris is heavy and every trip counts.
Pick the days, not the box
Since the size is settled, our plans are about time. Delivery and pickup are included in all of them.
- 1 day, $295. A single push. Curb appeal weekend, a cleanout you already staged, a crew that finishes fast. Extra days run $50 each.
- 3 days, $395. The garage and shed combo, or a weekend renovation with one workday to spare. Extra days run $40.
- 7 days, $495. The plan most people book, and the one we recommend for anything involving contractors. It is the only plan that includes two tons of disposal instead of one, and extra days cost $35. A week means nobody is rushing the demo.
- 30 days, $895. Long renovations and estate work, where the pile grows slower than the project. Extra days run $30.
If you are between two plans, take the longer one. The jump from 3 days to 7 costs $100 up front, while stretching a 3 day rental to a week costs $160 in extra days. The math favors deciding early.
The part people forget, which is weight
Every plan includes disposal by weight, one ton on most plans and two on the 7 day. Household junk rarely gets close. Renovation debris does. Concrete, tile, shingles and wet yard waste are the usual reasons a container comes in heavy, and weight over your included amount needs separate handling, so tell us what you are loading and we will tell you before the job what it means, not on the invoice.
A few things cannot go in at all. Paint, tires, batteries, chemicals and anything with refrigerant need their own disposal route. Ask us and we will handle them the right way.
Where the dumpster sits
You need a flat, firm spot with enough clearance for the truck, and we protect the driveway under the container when we place it. You do not need to be home for delivery if you tell us where it goes.
If your project will not fit in 14 yards, that usually means it should not go in a dumpster at all. That is what our junk removal crew is for, and for jobs where you would rather not lift anything, it is the better call anyway.
